Layers - Christmas Show 2009

An Exhibition of new work by artist and owner of Almond Tree Gallery, Mary Dillon. ‘The paintings in ‘ Layers’, look at the ways by which layers of colour and light, can bring us to places that lie beyond the subject of the painting. Paintings of organic forms with all the sensual fluidity that is so evident on the surface, can lead us to deeper layers both within and beyond ourselves.’ Work by other gallery artists also showing.




Bealtaine Festival 'Painting From Life'

'Painting From Life' Art project Exhibition. The work in this exhibition will be the result of an art project with the members of the Dean Maxwell Community, Roscrea, where the students will show work which they have completed based on visits to local places of interest, Roscrea Castle gardens, St. Anne's Walled Garden and Golden Grove Wood.




Exhibition - Essense of Skiathos - Gallery Archipelagos, Skiathos, Greece.

Date:  May 23rd to June 20th 2009.

Exhibition in Gallery Archipelagos, Skiathos, Greece. 'Essense of Skiathos' Jointly, Mary Dillon with Yvonne Ayoub of the Painting Skiathos Art Centre, Kolios, Skiathos are showing their watercolour paintings reflecting, in Yvonnes case, the pathways and streetscapes of Skiathos and in Marys case, the flora and fruit of Skiathos. Yvonne spends at least half the year at her home in Skiathos. Mary spent time in Skiathos during early Summer and Autumn 2008 painting ' en plein air' and in the studio at the Painting Skiathos Art Centre. The exhibition was opened by the Mayor of Skiathos, Nikolaos Plomaritis shown on the right. Tassos Biskinis, on the left of the photo, is the owner of Gallery Archipelagos, in the center of Skiathos Town. Skiathos has become a hub for holiday makers visiting Greece this year as it has become more widely known as the location for filming 'Mama Mia'.
